Cognitive Neurology Clinic
The Cognitive Neurology Clinic (CNC) consists of a team of Neurologists
and Neuropsychologists brought together by a common interest in
understanding brain-behaviour relationships. We are primarily interested
in the neural underpinnings and mechanisms of cognitive functions like
memory, language, and executive functions. We study patients with
stroke, dementia, head injuries, and encephalitis as well as healthy
adults. Our work primarily involves doing detailed clinical and
neuropsychological assessments that aid in accurate diagnosis of
neurological conditions, treatment and designing of rehabilitation
plans.
Our primary focus is to diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders better. At the same time, we also try and understand how memory and language functioning are affected in healthy ageing, stroke, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and dementia.
The Clinic is currently running from Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore and Annasawmy Mudalier General Hospital, Bangalore. It is an initiative of
Dr. Ratnavalli Ellajosyula, cognitive neurologist at Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore. The neuropsychology division of the clinic is led by
Ms. Jwala Narayanan.
